The Gallery Tattoo is under new management and we’re looking for an experienced tattoo artist to join our team either full- or part-time.
Our studio has a bright, clean, and friendly atmosphere with a dedicated space for exhibiting works by local artists, fostering creativity and community within a diverse hub of free expression. We are always surrounded by ever-changing beauty and inspirational works.
There are currently five talented tattoo artists in-house, each with their own style and flair. We value professionalism, laughter, and a positive environment which means there is little to no drama within these walls.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Majority of consumables are provided (gloves, cleaning supplies, ink caps etc.)
- A collaborative team environment where all our artists boost each other up
- Design enquiries through our website which we match with our artists
- Art exhibitions that cycle every 3 months, which our artists can be involved in
- Proactive owners with a passion for art
- Artists are encouraged and supported to grow in their own artistic direction
- Regular events and fundraisers
WHAT WE EXPECT
- Experience is required!
- We’re looking for someone with at least five years in the industry with a solid portfolio to show where they’ve been and the direction they want to move in
- Skilled and self-motivated artists who take great pride in their work and are looking to create original works of art through custom tattoos
- Artists must buy and maintain their own machines, inks, and needles
- Good communication skills, professionalism, regular social media activity, and excellent customer service
- A willingness to design and tattoo original flash for events and walk-in clients
SPECIAL NOTES
- We have the ability to open late so if you prefer to work evenings, we can accommodate that for you
- If you’re moving to Wellington from somewhere else in Aotearoa we may be able to help get you settled
